Hautes Fagnes Nature Reserve in the Ardennes

A place steeped in history, the German-Belgium plateau of Hautes Fagnes welcomes you to a landscape unique in Europe.

A high plain of forests, lakes and peat bogs, it has its own unique flora and fauna, which you can discover on walks along the duckboard woodland paths.

The Hautes Fagnes is the setting for no less than 15 lakes, whose millions of cubic metres of water constitute a gigantic reservoir.

Hautes fagnes

At the heart of the Hautes Fagnes is the Signal de Botrange,

the highest point in Belgium, at 694 metres.

Château de Reinhardstein

On the food side, after a lovely walk in the countryside or visit to the Château de Reinhardstein, good food enthusiasts will be delighted at the range of artisanal food products available from local tradesmen: pâtés, jams, syrups, game-based foods, etc.
